Invariant elements in the dual Steenrod algebra

‎In this paper‎, ‎we investigate the invariant elements of the dual mod $p$ Steenrod subalgebra ${mathcal{A}_p}^*$ under the conjugation map $chi$ and give bounds on the dimensions of $(chi-1)({mathcal{A}_p}^*)_d$‎, ‎where $({mathcal{A}_p}^*)_d$ is the dimension of ${mathcal{A}_p}^*$ in degree $d$‎.

Colimits of Representable Algebra-valued Functors

If C and D are varieties of algebras in the sense of general algebra, then by a representable functor C → D we understand a functor which, when composed with the forgetful functor D → Set, gives a representable functor in the classical sense; Freyd showed that these functors are determined by D-coalgebra objects of C. Let Rep(C,D) denote the category of all such functors, a full subcategory of ...

On the X basis in the Steenrod algebra

‎Let $mathcal{A}_p$ be the mod $p$ Steenrod algebra‎, ‎where $p$ is an odd prime‎, ‎and let $mathcal{A}$ be the‎ subalgebra $mathcal{A}$ of $mathcal{A}_p$ generated by the Steenrod $p$th powers‎. ‎We generalize the $X$-basis in $mathcal{A}$ to $mathcal{A}_p$‎.

The extension algebra of some cohomological Mackey functors

Let k be a field of characteristic p. We construct a new inflation functor for cohomological Mackey functors for finite groups over k. Using this inflation functor, we give an explicit presentation of the graded algebra of self extensions of the simple functor S 1 , when p is odd and G is an elementary abelian p-group. Discovering boundary algebra: A simple notation for Boolean algebra and the truth functors

Boundary algebra is a new and simple notation for the Boolean algebra 2 and the truth functors. The primary arithmetic [PA] is built up from the atoms, '()' and the blank page, by enclosure between '(' and ')', denoting the primitive notion of distinction, and concatenation. Inserting letters denoting the presence or absence of () into a PA formula yields boundary algebra [BA], a simpler notati...
